Dear Vista Little League Families,
As you may have heard, our lease to utilize the fields at Stonebrooke Church has expired. The leadership at Stonebrooke all feel that, in order for the church to remain economically viable, they have no other choice but to sell that portion of the property. You may have also heard that there has been talk of other solutions regarding the sale of the land that would preserve the baseball fields. As far as we can tell, however, it’s just talk and there has been no concrete action taken toward such a development that we are aware of. Unfortunately, given all of the current variables, we do not see a realistic scenario at this point where Vista Little League will have access to the fields moving forward.
Per our contractual obligations, the time has come to vacate the property. The church has graciously allowed us to extend past our agreed upon exit date to finish our fall season as well as remove our assets and historical items.
As sad as we all are about losing the fields, we remain grateful for the memories they created for literally thousands of families over the past 50+ years. So many people from all over Vista have watched their children and grandchildren play ball there. It is important to remember that five decades of baseball on those fields would not have been possible without the church’s generous support, and for that, we remain very thankful. We understand the church’s decision, and wish them well in their plans for growth and service to the community as it continues to navigate these challenging times.
We are planning to hold our final games of the 2021 Fall Season at Stonebrooke on November 13th and we hope that you will all be there to join us.
