COVID-19 Protocols

Vista Little League Covid-19 Protocol - Updated: 4/5/21

**Please note- Protocol is subject to change based State/County Youth Sports Guidelines**

Spectator Protocol (Failure to follow this protocol will result in game stoppage/cancellation)

Optimist Fields

  • Masks shall be worn at all times in attendance (except when eating or drinking)

  • Social distancing (6 feet) measures shall be in place at all times

  • Adherence to ALL county and state Youth Sports Guidelines is required

  • Anyone who exhibits any illness symptoms will not be permitted at any events

  • No spectators allowed in the Cages/Bullpen area

  • Players, families and spectators are instructed NOT to show up to fields more than 40 minutes before game time.

  • If there is a game prior to your event, families and spectators are encouraged to stay in their vehicles or at recommended social distances until the start of their game to prevent overcrowding of spectator spaces and walkways.

  • Spectators should bring their own seating when possible. Limited seating will be available in the bleachers

  • Players, managers, coaches and spectators should vacate the field/facility as soon as reasonably possible after the conclusion of the games to minimize unnecessary contact, ideally within 30 minutes.

    Stonebrooke Fields

  •  Masks shall be worn at all times in attendance when social distancing cannot be achieved (except when eating and drinking)

  •  Social distancing (6 feet) measures shall be in place at all times

  •  Adherence to ALL county and state Youth Sports Guidelines

  •  Anyone who exhibits any illness symptoms will not be permitted at any events

  •  Players, families and spectators are instructed NOT to show up to fields more than 40 minutes before game time.

  •  If there is a game prior to your event, families and spectators are encouraged to stay in their vehicles or at recommended social distances until the start of their game to prevent overcrowding of spectator spaces and walkways.

  •  Spectators should bring their own seating when possible. Limited seating will be available in the bleachers. Additional areas to watch games will be down the foul lines and outfield fence areas.

  •  Players, managers, coaches and families should vacate the field/facility as soon as reasonably possible after the conclusion of the games to minimize unnecessary contact, ideally within 30 minutes 

    Practice Protocol

  •  Masks are not required if practicing social distancing (6 feet) while on the field

  •  Maximum of 1 Manager and 4 coaches at each practice

  •  Players and coaches will be required to wear mask/gaiter while in the dugout and at any time social distancing cannot be achieved

  •  No food, seeds, gum or spitting

  • Players shall use their own equipment and not share (bats, helmets, and gloves). Catcher’s masks must be sanitized between uses

  • Players and Coaches shall bring their own hydration. Sharing is not allowed

  • Home and Away teams will enter through the respective gates

  •  On field warm-up should be limited to no more than 30 minutes

  •  Masks are not required if practicing social distancing (6 feet) while on the field

  •  Players and coaches will be required to wear mask/gaiter while in the dugout and at any time social distancing cannot be achieved

  •  Pitchers shall not go to their mouth. If so, ‘TIME’ is called, pitcher must sanitize and a new ball shall be inserted in the game

  •  Foul balls retrieved by spectators shall be sanitized before entering play

  •  Players shall use their own equipment and not share (bats, helmets, and gloves). Catcher’s masks must be sanitized if shared

  •  Players and Coaches shall bring their own hydration. Sharing is not allowed

  •  Ensure social distancing during any Umpire/Coach conferences

  •  No after game handshakes permitted; recommend tipping the hat or salute

  •  Spectators are not permitted near the dugout

As required by the State of California and Little League International, all parents must sign and return our Waiver of Liability Agreement before their child will be allowed to participate in practices or games.
